Writing and Drafting

Writing and drafting are central to lawyers' work. Practising lawyers, and those studying to enter practice, must be able to communicate effectively in writing. They must be able to adjust their writing style to meet the needs of each situtation, while always achieving clear and effective communication.

Lawyers need general legal writing skills to produce letters, memoranda and briefs, but also need clarity and an nderstanding of the rules of legal writing when drafting formal documents such as contracts, wills and barristers' opinions.
